काव्यम्

किमस्ति सत्यं जनभाषणाद्बहिः

केन प्रकारेण बहिष्कृतं भवेत् ।

तस्माद्धि काव्यं जगतीह पूजितं

निर्मीयते तत्त्वमतः कवेर्गिरा ॥

kim asti satyaṃ janabhāṣaṇād bahiḥ

kena prakāreṇa bahiṣkṛtaṃ bhavet /

tasmād dhi kāvyaṃ jagatīha pūjitaṃ

nirmīyate tattvam ataḥ kaver girā //

In what (other) way could it be manifested? 

That’s why poetry is so highly praised in this 

world, because the true nature of things is 

expressed in the words of a poet!
